First Walking Festival for Foxford

The Foxford Ramblers Walking Club in County Mayo will be hosting the Inaugural Foxford Walking Festival from 21st to 23rd October 2011. The Festival kicks off on Friday 21st with a Welcome Reception and Registration at 8pm at the Foxford Sport and Leisure Centre. Mountain Rescue on Bray Head

Today, at 16.13, Mountain Rescue was tasked to respond to assist a lady with a severe lower leg injury located 100m from the top of Bray Head. Paramedics from the HSE ambulance crews were already on scene and had asked for assistance from both the Irish Coastguard helicopter and the Mountain Rescue team. The casualty, a 19 year old female, was in a very awkward location and her injury was serious enough to cause concern. Dave Fanning Rescued by Glen of Imaal MRT!

Dave Fanning joined Mountain Rescue during training exercises in Dalkey Quarry on Saturday 24th September 2011. Aillwee Cave will play host to an event that will give runners and mountain bikers the unique experience of racing through the famous cave. The Caveman will be held at the stunning Aillwee Cave in the heart of the Burren, Co Clare over the weekend of October 15th & 16th. Moonlight Challenge for Mountain Rescue!

On Saturday 12th November 2011, why not challenge yourself and your team on this 26km Night Hike (16.3 miles) in aid of the Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team? Your group will have to travel from Crone Wood in Glencree, following the Wicklow Way to Paddock Hill and finishing at the Glen Team’s New Rescue Base.
