MountainTrails tackle The Reeks

The people at have had a busy summer of walking. Recently, they took a 3 day trip to the reeks and took in all the sights such as the fine Beenkeragh Ridge, Carrauntoohil and the fantastic Coomloughra Horseshoe. Glen of Imaal Red Cross MRT and the Dublin & Wicklow MRT involved in Glenmacnass Rescue

On Monday the 7th of July, both the Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team and the Dublin & Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team were tasked by an Garda Siochana to respond to an incident in which a man had slipped and fallen at Glenmacnass Waterfall. Having assessed the situation Mountain Rescue set in motion a technical rescue. The man who was a Belgian national, had not only fallen but also landed on steep ground.
