A race on Slieve Gullion will kick off the Northern Ireland Mountain Running Association Season on Saturday, March 5th at 12pm.
This short race over 3.9 miles with 340 metres of climb takes place over a fairly well defined route and is deemed suitable for athletes of all standards. Fighting Blindness has launched its sixth annual Glendalough Trail, taking place in Co. Wicklow on Saturday, October 31, at 11am. Open to all levels of fitness with 15.5km run and 10km jog/walk options.
Over 300 embraced the challenge last year raising €17,000 to support research into finding cures and treatments for sight-loss. Covering a distance of 3.9 miles with a total height gain of 2680 feet, this is one of the classic Northern Ireland hill races taking in Meelbeg, Bearnagh and Meelmore.

The popular running website, NiRunning (www.nirunning.co.uk) this week announced that the 2nd annual running of their 5 mile Trail Race in Ballyboley Forest, just outside Larne.
In early 2014, despite heavy overnight snow and ice, which enforced a complete change of course and Race HQ on the morning of the event, the race attracted over one hundred competitors and proved popular with participants.

Launched in 2010, The CARA Bundoran Challenge is now in its 5th successful year and is scheduled to take place for the weekend of 13th – 15th March 2015 in lovely Bundoran! Plenty of Time to get the running shoes on and get Training!
Last year’s event attracted over 1,500 runners, joggers & walkers from all over Ireland and raised over €15,000 for The Marie Keating Foundation, Laura Lynn Children’s Hospice & NYP Bundoran.
