On Saturday 12th November 2011, why not challenge yourself and your team on this 26km Night Hike (16.3 miles) in aid of the Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team? Your group will have to travel from Crone Wood in Glencree, following the Wicklow Way to Paddock Hill and finishing at the Glen Team’s New Rescue Base.

Funds raised will go directly towards finishing the Base (construction is nearly complete) and will ensure that the Team can protect, store and maintain their live-saving equipment. At present there are no indoor facilities for the Rescue Team, and Rescue vehicles and equipment are stored at members’ homes. This reduces the life of all the equipment and vehicles.

The challenge will be extensively marshalled to ensure safety. It is not a race – everyone that takes part will get the T-shirt! It will be tough however, travelling at night through mountainous terrain – darkness, weather changes, blisters, not to mention the hills and valleys!

Group size: 3 -6 people
Registration fee: €25 pp
Fundraising target: at least €75 pp
