Feyisa Lilesa becomes first Ethiopian winner of Dublin Marathon

Dublin-City-Marathon-2009_mediumFeyisa Lilesa became the first Ethiopian winner of the Lifestyle Sports-adidas Dublin Marathon completing the course in a time of 2.09.12, just five seconds short of the course record. The previous holder of the course record, Alexsey Soklolv of Russia, came in second place trailing the leader by over 1 minute in a time of 2.10.38.

The women’s title was won by Ukranian Kateryna Stetsenko who crossed the line in a time of 2.32.45 beatingHelalia Johannes of Namibia who finished in 2.33.26.

In all, there were 10,413 finishers of the marathon.
