The Croagh Patrick Heritage Trail will host its annual walking festival on the 9th,10th and 11th of March in Co. Mayo. The Croagh Patrick Heritage Trail is a non profit community based organisation and this year the proceeds of the festival will go to Croi, the registered heart and stroke charity.
The linear trail is 61 km in length and is a National Way Marked Way graded as moderate to hard in difficulty. It starts in the town of Balla and finishes in the village of Murrisk at the base of Croagh Patrick; the guided walk includes information on the local folklore and heritage sites. Walkers will be transported from the meeting point to the start point of the trail each morning so your personal transport will be at the end of the route each day. There will be water and refreshment stops along the way provided by local businesses and the communities that the trail passes through.
The walk is guided and the cost is €20 per day or €50 for all three days. Individuals, groups and clubs are all welcome.
Registration is available online at https://www.croi.ie/heritagetrail or you can register on the day.
