The Irish Mountain Running Association have released details of their Winter/Spring League for 2020.
The league consists of 5 events building in distance and difficulty each week. In order to qualify for a league position, participants need to complete 3 of the 5 scheduled events. All events are fully marked
The league kicks off with ‘Brockagh Burst’, a 6km run with an elevation gain of 200 metres which takes place on Saturday 25th January.
The second race of the league is ‘Ticknock Winter’, a big loop over Three-Rock and around Fairy Castle. Taking place on Saturday 9th February, the route covers a distance of 8.2km with a climb of 318 metres.
Next up is a 9.7km run on Trooperstown Hill featuring an elevation gain of 9.7km on Sunday 23 February 2020. This is followed by a shorter 6.2km race on Saturday 7th March which takes place on Howth Head.
The league wraps up with a new route of 10.5km on Annagh Hill on Saturday 21st March. For more information and to register for IMRA events, visit www.imra.ie. Annual membership costs €10. Once registered, you can sign up for individual events which usually cost €7.
