Ben Nevis is the highest mountain in the British Isles standing at 1,344 metres above sea level and located at the western end of the Grampian Mountains in the Lochaber area of the Scottish Highlands, close to the town of Fort William. The climb itself will be based in the main upon the Ben Nevis mountain track starting and finishing in Glen Nevis and covering a mixture of track and mountain trail (both man–made and natural mountainous terrain) with steep ascents and descents. The distance will be approximately 10.5 miles, with height climbed approx 1,300 metres and an approx. walking time of 8 hrs.
