This World Mental Health Day you can make a real and positive difference to the lives of people affected by depression by climbing Northern Ireland’s highest peak in Aware’s Slieve Donard Trek.
By scaling the Mournes peak on Saturday, October 10 you will be helping to stamp out the stigma of depression as well as conquering your own amazing mountain challenge. Every penny raised will be used to help people affected by depression and educate our young people on mental wellbeing.
Once you’ve reached the 850m (2,789 ft) summit the views are extensive and on a clear day the Isle of Man, Wicklow, Donegal, Wales and Scotland may be seen, as well as the long stretch of Newcastle Beach. Returning back to the beautiful village of Newcastle you will enjoy some well-earned refreshments.
Registration is £15 and participants are asked to have a fundraising target of £55.
