Now we have Ireland’s first snowman of the Winter!

We brought you news earlier on about the first snow of winter on Errigal.

Billy Horan, who previously submitted a stunning shot of a cloud inversion above the gap of Dunloe, caught not only the first snow of the year but also the first snowman of the year!

Billy and his father ‘Nelius reached the top of Carraunthoohil to discover about an inch of snow at the summit, the first snow of the year at the top of the mountain. This surely must be the first snowman of the winter in Ireland!

Billy also sent in this shot of the first snow on the Eastern McGillycuddy Reeks. The photos were taken yesterday morning when Billy was out for a hike before the heavy rainfall came in the early afternoon.

  1. Irish Cottage Rental says:

Any guesses which Irish mountain will feature the last snow of the season and when?
