The beautiful Cooley Peninsula in County Louth will host the 5th annual Táin Walking Festival in March 2013. The festival kicks off on Friday 1st with a night walk and runs until Sunday 3rd.
Although relatively 'young', the festival attracts walkers from as far away as England and Holland. The walks are varied and cater for all levels of fitness. The photo shows the view from Camlough Mountain in County Armagh, known in local circles as Slieve Gherkin. This views offered by this fantastic little mountain were off limits to hill-walkers for nearly a quarter of a century until the British army vacated it's summit in late 2006.
